Hubbard Hills
Hubbard Hills
Once a glacier crater
Is now home to mother nature
With a beauty you cannot measure Louth's very own natural treasure
Set against the backdrop
Of the Lincolnshire Wolds
With rolling hills that unfold
Fields of corn the colour of gold
And lavender a sight to behold
It doesn't need a crop
Of tourist shops
Selling lollipops
And ice-cream dollops
Keyrings and other souvenir things
It doesn't need
Bold modern architecture
Or other entertaining props
To greet you on your arrival
And your departure
It doesn't need
New black tarmac tracks
Or more information maps
Or tourist information shacks
Hubbard Hills is the place to go
To escape the hustle and bustle
That everyday life throws
To take a walk along the chalk
Stream that gently flows
Let's hope it isn't the wind of change
That blows
